Though you can start with any class that doesn't
require a prerequisite, there are a few classes that make better
starting points than others. We've listed those classes below. If
you would like to find out more about a course that we haven't listed,
you can look it up on the Course Descriptions page.

The Bible is an essential part of the Christian life.
But most Christians have never been taught to read their Bibles.
When you read your Bible, how do you decide which passages are literal
and which are figurative? Which passages need to be considered in
their cultural context and which can be applied directly to your
life today? Bible Study Methods will challenge you to consider your
motivation in studying the Bible, teach you how to analyze each passage
in it’s context, and push you to apply biblical truth to your everyday
life. God has given us the Bible to show us who He is and to help
us live God-glorifying lives. Understanding how to effectively study
the Bible is essential for every Christian.
As Christians,
we are all called to be ministering in the lives of the people around
us. While few of us would refer to ourselves as counselors, we all
influence and counsel people on a daily basis. Unfortunately, few
Christians stop to consider whether or not their counsel is biblical.
Introduction to Discipleship Counseling is designed to help Christians
use biblical wisdom to counsel the people that God has placed in
their lives. The class examines who people are, how they change,
and how we can effectively disciple them through this process.
If you want to know more about the Bible as a whole, our survey classes
are a great place to start. These classes provide an overview of
the Bible and will help you to see what each book of the Bible is
about, and how the books fit together. Though you won't study every
passage in depth, you will gain an understanding of the biblical
storyline, and how that storyline is relevant for life and ministry
today. Old Testament Survey I covers Genesis through Esther, Old
Testament Survey II covers Job through Malachi, and New Testament
Survey covers the entire New Testament.
