Education involves more than the mere memorization of facts. Our desire is not simply to get students through an academic program. We desire to make disciples. Though our academic standards are high, our primary concern is that our students are learning to live a life that brings glory to God. We desire to train students for a lifetime of ministry.

This being our goal, we make discipleship a high priority. Each student is required to be in a discipleship relationship during his or her first semester at EBC. We encourage students to pursue these relationships through their local churches, but we also offer discipleship labs with members of our staff. In addition to supplying a degree of accountability, these discipleship relationships give students the opportunity to interact with their instructors and/or pastors on a deeper level. Not only did Paul share theology with the Thessalonians, he also shared his life (1 Thessalonians 2:8). In addition to teaching students about life and ministry, we want them to see examples of how this plays out in real life.

In addition to this discipleship requirement, all of our professors are highly pastoral, both in and out of class. Also, our campus pastor is always available to walk with and counsel students.

First-semester students are required to be in a discipleship relationship. If you would like to join a discipleship lab with one of our staff members, you may sign up during orientation. If you would like to fulfill your discipleship requirement through your local church, you may pick up the arranged discipleship lab form from the EBC office.
